Baby Nurture Academy

The class is great for…

  • first time parents including foster and adoptive, mothers on maternity leave, grandparents who would like to relearn some baby tricks, and nannies or baby sitters who want developmental ideas

  • caregivers who want affirmation they are doing a great job, who want to learn ideas on how to play and interact with their baby, who have questions - this is a SAFE, non-judgmental zone!

  • a BABY (3 weeks-pre-crawling) who is struggling with tummy time, who seems to have a head turning preference or showing signs of a misshaped head, who is gassy, colicky, or fussy.

  • caregivers who are looking for others going through the same baby journey, who want to connect with their community and seek/offer support, who just want to get out of the house because they are tired of looking at the same 4 walls and want to talk to another adult!

Why Baby Nurture Academy was developed…

I have been wanting to put together a new Caregiver and Me class for a long time. Sure I have offered Infant Massage classes, which I 100% absolutely enjoy! It’s one of my favorite things to do! However, I felt a NEED to offer something with more depth and guidance for babies and their families. In my role as a pediatric physical therapist, I am so grateful to be able to evaluate for Early Intervention (Indiana First Steps). I get to work with some amazing therapists from different disciplines such as speech, occupational, and developmental. After many, many years of collaboration, evaluations, and meeting an array of families within my community, there seemed to be a missing link. I hear very similar concerns, needs, and wants from families everyday. This was my main reason I wrote my book Healthy Baby Habits: Help your baby dominate development. A guide for birth to 12 months.

I pride myself on looking at each child as a whole and really figuring out how best I can serve not only the baby, but also the parent/family. I read lots of books, enroll in numerous webinars and courses, and seek professional opinions on all things baby development. It can be quit exhilarating and yet overwhelming :) Needless to say, I want to GIVE my knowledge on baby development to you! “Take what you want, leave what you don’t.” Parenting is a journey and not everything is going resonate with your style.

With that all being said, I present Baby Nurture Academy. This class is going to have it all! Or at least what I can fit in a 4 week class :) It will be structured around my book focusing on the 12 most important baby habits for optimal development (FREE copy of my book with 4 week sign-up). Not only that, babies and their caregivers are going to learn hands-on techniques to help their baby through:

  • preventive strategies for common infant struggles

  • nurturing support to help your baby’s overall development including discussion on 12 Healthy Baby Habits

  • promoting bonding and attachment

  • hands-on colic and gas relief infant massage technique taught by a Certified Educator of Infant Massage

  • guidance with researched-based Tummy Time!™ Method for putting babies into tummy time that respects the normal developmental sequence. This also will address head preferences, plagiocephaly, tight oral restrictions and dysregulation

  • support from a parenting community

Also, I will provide developmental screenings from an experienced pediatric physical therapist upon request when attending this class.

It is structured as a revolving 4 week series, but you can come for just one class if you like. This class is for babies 3 weeks - pre-crawling.

I hope to see you at one of my classes!
